MISSIONAL TRIAGE: HOW DO WE CHOOSE?
Having postponed his visit to eastern Bolivia due to several regional political conflicts, SWM missionary Pedro Salces (center in photo) was finally able to make the trip. 16 hours by train, but 4 out of 7 secular radio stations began broadcasting both of SWM's high-production-quality, Biblically sound radio programs
The Gospel message advanced!
Pedro Salces is one of the many deeply dedicated SWM National Missionaries who brave repressive governments, political upheaval, economic hardship, health issues, transportation difficulties, and outright danger from thieves and swindlers to accomplish their mission.
Sadly, Pedro is also underfunded. It requires $1,000 per month to fund a National Missionary family. This amazingly low amount includes not only their living expenses, but also their ministry expenses.
Triage is "a system used to allocate a scarce commodity, such as food, only to those capable of deriving the greatest benefit from it". I struggle with having to do this, but we apply the concept of triage every day when it comes to meeting our funding obligations to our SWM National Missionaries. How are we supposed to choose one flourishing ministry field over another? How do we choose one devoted missionary family over the next? Right now we have a monthly deficit of $6,935 in supporting our current missionaries and their ministries, just on a subsistence level. Despite their needs, these missionaries keep on working faithfully and hard, counting it all joy to serve the Savior and reach the lost. We also have an urgent need for an additional $4,000 monthly to place National Missionaries in four more countries.

SWM is perhaps the best-kept "secret" in the world of missions, with 50 years of frugal
